What is the nature of evil? Does it exist? What is it caused by? Can it be defeated, if so, by whom?

Evil causes people to do horrible things. Evil is not the act of doing horrible things, it is the thought of. However, people can be considered evil because everyone can see their evil thoughts since they act on it. Evil exists to a point. Evil causes the initial thought in someones kind, but evil is not actually the person acting on it. Evil is caused by he fact that there is sin in the world. Evil can never be defeated. No on is perfect so evil will forever live in our would. People can overcome evil, however, but not defeat it. To overcome evil would mean that they choose not to act on the evil thoughts. Everyone thinks evil things, the difference is that no everyone acts on evil thoughts.

    So you are saying that evil is an innate quality, that can not be purged from a persons persoanlity or mind? that if one is evil then, they always will be and will always commit evil actions and evil thoughts? Does that not seem a little close minded to the fact that people can change.

    What if innocent, non evil, people are forced to do evil things? Does you consider them evil if in their intentions they mean to do good, but their actions are evil? Also, is evil an external force or is it within all of us?
